Non-Profit Organization

Urban Pathways is a New York City-based, nonprofit organization that provides housing and support to at-risk and homeless adults. Urban Pathways serves more than 3,700 men and women a year by providing services, ranging from meals to nursing care, and transitional and permanent supportive housing.  By providing “housing first” we are able to meet the complex needs of these individuals, most of whom have long histories of homelessness and also have mental health or substance use disorders. Gabriella Lincoln is a French/American photographer currently living in New York City. She was deeply touched by the people she met and their courageous journeys to re-establish their lives.  She believes that the Homeless Essentials project has a message for everyone; we can all benefit from understanding what is really important in life and simply strip the rest away.
